You do you pay for inspection and registration in your state and vehicle(s)?

In Washington there aren't any inspections, except for emissions in certain areas. We do pay $50 or so for registration every year. It used to be hundreds of dollars but that was rolled back by ballot initiative.

No emissions where I live. That is why I am not in jail.

Florida: No inspections and as of now less than $45 a year for tags(provided you don't have a personalized tag, that's 15 more a year).

We've got inspections and emissions. Starting next year, I get to bypass emissions because the car will be 25 years old. Whoo! So that'll be $16 for inspection every year and $2 every other year for the emissions bypass.
I can't remember the registration details. I get to refresh my memory next Saturday.

in NC an emissions inspection is $30 now. If your car predates ODB-II then it's a $17 safety inspection.
Registration here is based on the tax value of the car, IIRC. My 240sx is actually due, so thanks for the reminder!

My dad told me registration used to be so expensive in WA, that people used to register them in Oregon and save hundreds of dollars

Or Idaho. The cost was based on the value of the car and I've heard a story about somebody registering a Cobra as a "1966 Ford" but that might just be a story. I know my little Probe GT that I bought used cost me $300.

Here in Brazil, you only have to pass inspections if you change anything in the vehicle title, for example, owner, address, color, replating, that kind of stuff. You apply for the changes, then have your car inspected, then get the updated document. If I remember correctly, back when my dad transferred his Tipo to me, we paid 300 something bucks for all the bureaucracy and inspection and new documents. Pretty steep for a car that costs 75 bucks a year to license.

I don't remember what the whole rule is, but here there's no annual inspection. Registration isn't too expensive, I can't remember how much ($50?), but we pay property tax annually at registration time, which blows. It cost me $300 to register my car this year

Ohio - No smog, no inspection; $52 annually for registration.

$75 for registration. You have to pass emissions every two years before you can register, but it's a free test.
